Sustainability boils down to respect - for the planet we inhabit, for our customers, our peers and our employees, for the work we create, and the materials we use.
When it comes to sustainable design, our primary focus is on longevity.
Time Tested Construction
Our furniture will withstand whatever life throws at it. We use wedged and pinned mortise and tenon joinery that is fit to tolerances of 0.005”. That’s about the thickness of a sheet of paper. Close connections make for strong bonds. Even if the glue fails, joints are still mechanically bound.

When life happens and something does break, you can return your product to us and we’ll repair and restore it at cost. Send us a message to learn more about our repairs program.

Using materials such as hardwoods, brass, high-grade textiles, and leather means our furniture will wear in, not out, and become more beautiful with each passing year.

We strive to create objects that outlast transient trends and that can adapt to changing needs or spaces, so you won’t want or need to replace them.
Beyond longevity, we’re making strides to reduce and reuse our waste.
By volume we divert 62.9% of our studio's waste, meaning only 37.1% of the waste we produce goes to the landfill.
- Sawdust is bagged and used for gardening, landscaping, and stable bedding
- Wood offcuts are reused in our own production, sold to hobbyists, and offered as firewood to our neighbours.
- Paper products from packaging material and metal scraps are sorted and recycled municipally.
By manufacturing locally, we reduce the environmental impact associated with long-distance transportation and support the community in which we operate.
100% of our furniture is crafted in our Dundas studio by skilled woodworkers, supporting local employment and craftsmanship. We believe in transparency and integrity in our production process. We invite you to visit our shop if you’re thinking about purchasing from us.
During the studio tour, you'll have the opportunity to:
